Use this activity to build your student’s vocabulary and language usage. Have your students choose a sentence, read it aloud, say the nouns, then choose which adjective best fits the noun. Students can work individually, but pairs are more effective, as students may want to use different adjectives and can discuss their choices. Some of the words may fit with more than one noun. Have your students place the adjectives next to the “best fit” sentences and nouns. Then have the students rewrite the sentence using the adjectives into their journal or on a piece of paper. There are 12 sentences, 20 nouns, and 20 possible adjectives.
