Adjectives: Describing Nature Photos helps students describe wading mallards and dangling butterflies, soaking frogs and gorgeous flowers, silhouetted birds and pollinating bees, submerged rocks and floating feathers, chewed leaves and dangling seed pods, ants herding aphids and katydids standing motionless, hiding spiders and web-encrusted fruit, blue-eyed birds and pink spiders, and trees and leaves and so much more. The photos, from my own nature excursions, keep students’ attention while helping your students insert adjectives into compound sentences and complex sentences.
This slideshow can be used for whole-class interactive participation (for a projector and SmartBoard) or independent fluency practice (on a computer).
