This is another activity focused on teaching descriptors and expanding students' vocabulary beyond "good." The theme is food which everyone loves!
Check out the preview for a freebie "healthy versus unhealthy" sorting task!
This activity contains:
*food mats: Use for sorting and as teaching aid/visual.
*adjective cards: Sort cards onto mat with a matching food (some words may fit with more than one food). Also use for vocabulary expansion.
*healthy sort: Cut apart food cards. Use to the mat to sort ‘healthy versus unhealthy’ foods.
*chart worksheet: Fill in the grid with words to describe the foods based on the appropriate sense.
*free-response worksheet: List words that describe the given food. Make a game by giving each group 1 minute to see who thinks of the most answers.
***Expansion idea 1: Bring in a food and have the students describe using all their senses.
***Expansion idea 2: Have the students draw their lunch and label each food with one word to describe. I ban the word “good” for the entire lesson!
