Students are involved in learning by applying the spelling rule to adjectives that end in a consonant followed by Y.
There are 11 slides in this power-point presentation. Each slide has an adjective. Students write the adjective comparing it to two things, then more than two things, applying the rule by writing responses on their white board. This provides instant feed-back so that the teacher can tell who is mastering the skill.
The last slide gives students specific directions for writing sentence with adjectives. This demonstrates who can use the adjectives within a sentence. (CCSS)
I always get the funniest sentences with this activity. My students really have fun with this creative writing.
