This activity deals with students using new or challenging words from a dictionary in order to demonstrate the five main types of context clues(Compare, Contrast, Definition, Example, and Restate).
Directions: Using your notes, your goal is to create context clues on your own. Searching in a dictionary, thesaurus, or other reliable resource, you must find 25 new or challenging words and create context clues for them. Based around your chosen 25 words, you must use each context clue type five times. You may only use each of your chosen 25 words once.
