These Adverbs Differentiated Task Cards with QR Codes are appropriate for 6th-8th grade, but could be used as low as 4th and 5th grade depending on the academic levels of students. Tasks include adverb identification practice for below, on, and above level learners, making the curriculum both accessible and challenging for all. Below level cards include multiple choice items, on level cards include more rigorous practice without the support of answer choices, and above level learners may be challenged by completing the on level cards in addition to the option to create their own adverb task card. Cutting out below level and on level task cards and gluing them back to back for students allows them to take control of their own learning and choose their own level of rigor. Copying the above level “create your own” task cards onto the back of the student recording sheet gives students the opportunity to create at any level. This differentiated set is excellent for use in a learning station, could be played as a SCOOT! game, or might be used as a practice task after direct or small group instruction. This valuable resource could be utilized for test preparation, or as a remediation tool for those who need an extra push and more exposure to basic adverb knowledge and identifying adverbs. Common Core State Standards in writing and language that are addressed include L.6.3, L.6.6, W.6.4, W.6.5, L.7.3, L7.6, W.7.4, W.7.5, L.8.3, L8.6, W.8.4, and W.8.5. These exciting task cards make it easy to integrate technology into the curriculum, and are perfect for a parts of speech or adverbs unit. The addition of electronic devices to scan QR codes makes the content even more engaging! QR codes on each task card allow students to take formative assessment to another level by giving them access to immediate feedback. Recording sheets and answer keys for 20 cards or 24 cards are available for your choice, allowing you to tailor lesson length if needed. An anchor chart on adverbs is included to provide students with an extra resource for support. Two teacher modeling task cards are also included for the teacher’s convenience.
