Adverbs Oh What Do You Do - Adverbs are not always easy for students to understand. But this lesson will do the trick. This unit provides a lesson presentation, movement activities which involve cooperative learning, and individual activities for assessment.

Movement & Cooperative Learning Activities: 3 Activities
Adverb Walk-A-Bout - 2 Sets of Activities of 2 Levels - These activities include 12 sentence strips and a task card. Sentence strips are placed around the room. Students work in small groups and identify the adverb in each sentence. (Choice of Levels will depend on student needs. Teacher will be able to pick out appropriate set for students to complete.)
Corner Talk - 5 sentence strips are placed around the room. Students are placed in groups and given a sentence to discuss and complete. Responses are shared with class.
What's Your Word Activity - Adverb word cards are provided. Students are placed in groups of two. They draw an adverb word card from a container. Then groups create their own sentence and share with class.

Adverb Word Sort - Teacher provides adverbs for students to see and determine if they tell How or When about the verb.
How When Flapbook - Students create their own sentences using adverbs of their choice.
Locating and Identifying Adverbs in Sentences - Worksheet which provides sentences for students to read and identify the adverb that tell about the verb.
Color Coding Adverbs - Worksheet which lists adverbs that tell how or when. Students color each adverb according to Color Code.
