This is a great activity. The activity starts off giving the slogan.
Then it will show a picture of an old ad and then a new ad.
Student will try to guess by the slogan and then they can try and guess by a picture of the old ad and then a picture of the new ad. It then asks a question about the ad to test your knowledge.
For example: Slogan "When It Rains, it Pours"
Shows a picture of the old ad and then a picture of the new ad
Question: Did Morton himself come up the Slogan- When it rains, it pours?
Answer: Yes, in 1911, Morton created free-flowing slat by adding magnesium carbonate as an absorbing element. Morton decided to run a series of ads in Good Housekeeping Magazine promoting its new product.
The original copy read, "Even in rainy weather, it flows freely."
Everyone thought the copy was to wordy. It was re-worded and a new advertising slogan was born!
