This fun project can be completed almost independently by your students, after a mini lesson one day each week. After the first lesson, explaining propaganda and advertising layout and components of an ad, students will analyze ads in small groups and then launch their own advertising campaign!
Here's what they will learn:
1. How to find and use creative writing (especially figurative language and persuasion) in advertisements.
2. How to create visually and verbally appealing advertisements and reflect on (evaluate) their effectiveness if incorporated into today's marketplace.
3. How to use their voices to create an audio clip (radio ad) that will influence their peers to look favorably on a product/service.
4. How to synthesize their understanding of web pages and ads to create something new!
