I use this fable to teach idioms, perspective, and theme. You will need to find a version of the story online. My version gives the student three choices of a one-page essay to write, but for higher levels you can have them write on all three.
Included in this you will find all the materials you will need (other than lined paper) to print out for this 3 hour(ish) assignment to wrap up your unit on Aesop's Fables. This is a good way for students to practice the writing process of perfecting their writing through editing and revision.
