Product Description
Discuss and enjoy the genre of Fables. Fourteen fables by Aesop to teach...read and write fables... graphic organizers, key vocabulary and more! This teaching resource is a mini unit to read and learn about fables and the many life lessons they teach!

Included in this teaching resource on FABLES are:
*14 fables to read by Aesop - pages are in the landscape format and show an illustration on each one - easy-to-read text
*anchor chart describing a fable
* key vocabulary cards for display while teaching fables
*graphic organizers for responding to the fables read
*graphic organizers for writing fables
* short matching quiz about fables
* write your own fable
*cover page for notebook or folder
*compare and contrast 2 fables
*'my favorite fable' writing prompt
* handout on fable elements and definitions.
* teacher information page

These fable pages can easily be a springboard to study and include more fables. Each fable is printed 2x [one with the moral/lesson printed on the page, and another without the moral/lesson included]; this is so you might start out having your students read the moral; and later give them a fable where they read, think and discuss what the lesson might be. Included is a writing response sheet for students to write the lesson. Also, included are templates for compare/contrast fables and writing fables on their own. These pages are appropriate for 3rd, 4th and 5th graders as well as homeschoolers. Always keep in mind that a more experienced writer [5th grader] would show more detail and thinking in the response than a 3rd grader. These writing pages accommodate the differences in writing abilities.
