Thanks for checking out my “Aesop’s Fables for Big Kids – The Ant and the Grasshopper!” Aesop was an ingenious storyteller, and students of all ages can enjoy (and learn) from his short stories.
Readers’ Theater allows students to become involved in the story in a deeper level. This play has 6 parts, allowing you to use this in small groups, or have different groups do different plays.
Lesson included are in the format of Close Reading Lessons, which are aligned with Common Core’s teaching strategies. Instructions are included, as well as graphic organizers that accompany each read. Common Core alignment included for grades 3-5. Close reading lessons focus on story elements, summarizing, problem/solution, evaluation of character motives, evaluation of Aesop's use of specific animals, and students writing their own fables.
Some great uses for this play (and other ones in my store) … perfect for short weeks, days between units, sub plans, end of the school year, or can be sent home for summer reading practice.
So, enjoy these plays with your students! Follow my TpT store for further updates on products and news about sales.
