These two activities include a foldable for prefixes and suffixes and a color coding activity for Latin and Greek roots.
In the prefix side of the foldable, students list sample words, identify the prefixes, define the prefixes, define the words, and write sample sentences. The suffix side is similar and also has a space for the part of speech for each word. Students are also asked to define the terms prefix and suffix and to come up with an icon to represent each. With two sides that open out, this brochure is designed for saving in students' notebooks as a handy study resource.
The Color Coding Activity
The picture in the color coding activity is labeled with Latin and Greek roots and words with roots. Students color the picture of an owl according to the meanings of the words and roots.
Both activities are ready to use with all of the necessary words with prefixes, suffixes, and roots included. Answer keys are included for both activities.
These fun activities support standards for both language and reading.
