In order to modify NYS curriculum for the functioning level of my students, we decided to focus on the flag, popular animal, currency and prominent geographical feature in each country.
For my students who are on the Autism spectrum, the repetition of this activity and the subtle differences made them pros at identifying flags, animals, money and geographical features. We would discuss the colors of the flag, the animal and where it would live, etc.
