Your students will recognize the contributions African Americans have had on society. Students will learn about Garrett Morgan (inventor of the traffic light) and George Crum (creator of potato chips). To start thinking about inventions and inventors, the students will listen to the story Max Found Two Sticks, and then participate in group work to learn about these two other inventors. The students will create a 3-D graphic organizer to display their knowledge.
