African-American scientists in U.S. history
In this set of four short bios, we take the students through notable African American scientists in U.S. History. This can be given out in a science class, social studies/history, or Gen. Ed and home schooling.
The reading is concluded with a series of open-ended questions for operating on three levels:
1. Reading and fact recall for students
2. Discussion and thinking generation
3. Self-referntial points within the reading on how these figures came into prominence through education itself.
This set is perfect for not just black history month, but for any time in the year to show either prominent people in science, African Americans, or both.
