This is a simple worksheet for students to color the climate zones that exist in Africa. The blank outline map includes country boundaries for students' reference. There is also a legend with the 12 climate zone names listed next to blank boxes for color coding.
All 12 zones are included; however, only 7 of them are found in Africa. This is mentioned in the students' instructions. The five missing zones are listed on the teacher key so you can also let your classes know which ones to cross out if you'd like to make it a little easier.
The teacher key also includes a map with the zones colored. Please be aware that the quality of the map on the key is not as good as that of the line map on the worksheet. Borders and words are fuzzy because I had to blow up a smaller image. However, the colored climate zones are still clear.
If your textbook doesn't have a climate zone map for your students to use as reference, they can be found easily on the internet. A Google search of "climate zones map" returns many good results.
Note that different sources may use different names for the climate zones. This worksheet uses the labels used in the Glencoe text The World and Its People. In other sources, labels may be different. Other common names for some of the zones are listed on the teacher key.
