This African Kingdoms in the Middle Ages Activity will save you time and stress as you introduce your students to the significant civilizations of Africa during Medieval times while students practice vital Social Studies skills.

It includes center or investigation cards on the origination and location, wealth, leadership, and decline of Ghana, Mali, Songhai, the Eastern Kingdoms, and the Central & Southern Kingdoms.

About this Resource:

These can be set up as centers for students to investigate, or they can be distributed as a response group or jigsaw activity. Directions are provided for both, as are student handouts for gathering information and comparison questions to wrap up the activity.

2 Days are recommended for this activity, but it make take less or more for some classes! My students enjoyed learning about the time period and discussions could extend for longer classes!
