This is the perfect lesson to teach students about tribal African masks. This lesson includes bell work, an objective, and then a 30 minute lesson about tribal African masks and African culture. As a final assessment and activity, students get to make their own tribal mask. In the PowerPoint, there are 4 slides of African mask printables. The teacher prints these and the students color and design them. Students can color them and also bring in yarn, pipe cleaners, and other crafty things to glue to them. I suggest teaching this lesson over 2 days so students have time to learn and time to make their masks. After the first day I tell my kids to bring the extra crafty stuff for the second day of the lesson. My kids love this lesson so much. I even hang the masks on the wall when they are complete. So fun!
