In the lesson, African Masks, students will explore the rich tradition and symbolic importance of ceremonial masks in the multiple African nations.

Students will:
1) Explore the cultural significance of masks in Africa.
2) Use art to design their own masks.
3) Develop an understanding of the similarities and differences between masks in Africa and the United States.
