This bundle is full of activities to use to teach students in upper elementary and middle school about African Music.
There are six lessons total:
1. Introduction to world music: why learning music from other cultures is important (includes a listening comparison between a classical flute piece and Nigerian flute improvisation)
2. Introduction to African music and its role in society (includes a West African Circle Game)
3. African Instruments (includes a listening analysis handout)
4. Drum Circle activity (includes several circle games)
5. Polyrhythms and the rhythm matrix (includes a link to a website that creates a sound matrix)
6. Polyrhythms soundtrap activity (includes screenshots of what to use on the website)
