*Students will practice describing age and birthdays with a partner. Each student gets a square with a different age and birthday. The students take turns asking each other "How old are you?" and "When is your birthday?" in the target language ( I usually write how I want them to ask and answer on the board or on a PPT slide). Students respond based on the information in their square. Students then trade and find a new partner. To keep students accountable for the activity, I time each round, randomly calling on different groups when the time is up. File can be edited to change ages / etc. as needed.
* (Tip) For classes where pairing up can be difficult or time consuming I have students form 2 lines facing each other, and when time is up one line shifts down a student. This takes out the freedom of choice of partners, but does make the activity run more efficiently and easier to ensure student participation.
