This is a full unit, complete with readings, worksheets for practice, videos, and assessments. This unit is fourth in my series of flipped lesson bundles and follows the American Literature curriculum for a junior or senior level classroom.
This unit includes readings from Thomas Paine (excerpt from The Crisis #1), Patrick Henry's "Speech in the Virginia Convention," and Thomas Jefferson's "Declaration of Independence." Readings are included as well as questions for analysis. Skills are scaffolded from previous bundles, including SOAPSTone Analysis and elements of Rhetoric and Style.
The two vocabulary assignments within this bundle discuss logical fallacies (video 5) and stylistic devices (schemes). Identification of these vocabulary words is reinforced throughout the readings and analyses. Practice worksheets are also included for each video.
I have also included annotated readings to help with instruction. Each reading and worksheet comes in a doc.x and pdf. version in case you would like to edit or make changes. The Age of Reason final Summative test is included.
My class is run in an online format, so I add have additional quizzes that reinforce the learning.
Look for additional videos, which will come as my store is built.
