This graphic organizer is designed to help students feel less overwhelmed when learning about different types of solids and the forces holding these solids together. Once students can accurately classify solids as network (giant) covalent, ionic, molecular covalent polar and nonpolar, or metallic, this organizer helps them make further decisions about their properties. After working with this sheet, students excel on tests.
I use it as a summary toward the end of the lesson and before handling most practice problems. I included a key of what I have the class fill in together.
