Product Description
Included in this packet are the materials for playing open-ended games. The cards are designed to fit the doors of YOUR Cariboo Magical Treasure Hunt game, if you choose to use them in that way.
While Cariboo may add a fun alternative, Cariboo is not required to play the game!

This includes 3 sets of cards.
*Two sets may be used with your Cariboo Magical Treasure Hunt game board.
*One set may be used as a stand alone game with any of your own task cards or activities requiring responses.

Instructions for Use with Cariboo

You will use only the numbered cards for play with Cariboo. (pages 4 – 5)

Select any of your own activity or task cards requiring students to take turns responding.

The SLP / teacher should place either set of the numbered cards in the doors of the Cariboo game. The cards should not be placed in numerical order.

Choose a student to respond to the activity / task card you have chosen. After responding the student should open the Cariboo door with the number 1.

Proceed with turn-taking and opening doors in numerical order.
Continue play until a student places the last ball and makes the treasure chest open.

Instructions for play without Cariboo

You will use only the cards without numbers for play without Cariboo. (pages 6 - 8)

Select any of your own activity or task cards requiring students to take turns responding.

Shuffle together all of the cards that are not numbered.

Stack the cards face down.

Choose a student to respond to the activity / task card you have chosen. After responding the student should take a card.

If the card is a jewel, the student keeps the card. If the card is not a jewel, set the card aside.

Continue until all the cards have been used or until time runs out.
