PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This lesson teaches students the eight levels of grouping featured in the Linnaean system of taxonomy. At each level, students are introduced to some common classification categories within that grouping. Each slide has a number of pictures included, so that students might begin to grasp the wonder, as well as the order, of life on Earth.

The guided notes portion of the lesson goes along with the powerpoint. Sheets provide blank lines for students to fill in missing notes and to answer questions during the lesson. It also includes a short class activity which asks students to state which characteristics distinguish taxonomic groupings from each other.
