PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This lesson teaches students all about food webs. The concept behind food webs and techniques for using them are both included in the lesson. Students are first asked to decide which organisms in a food web are producers, consumers, carnivores, herbivores, etc. Students then practice pulling food chains out of food webs, and using food webs to make predictions of ecological consequences of changing populations. Students next draw in the arrows to complete a food web using a chart stating trophic relationships. Lastly, students make a food web poster using organism cards. I include a rubric for the poster in this lesson. Most students need a second day to complete the poster.
