This lesson teaches students how variety and natural selection can both exist. Students are shown how natural selection can select for something surprising, or for more than one thing at the same time. The powerpoint and guided notes cover the example of human skin color, and of certain human diseases such as sickle cell anemia and the high prevalence of hypertension among African-Americans. (But not non-American Africans.) The beautiful comic (which is not mine, and which is included in the free preview download) covers the example of two mating strategies in crickets. If you purchase my product, I have also made an altered color version of the comic that makes printing a lot of black and white copies a little less ink-expensive.
Zip file contains: 1.Powerpoint 2.PDF, to guarantee formatting and for easy printing, 3.Word document, to make it easier to edit.
Document is a conglomeration of my original material and material from other sources. The fabulous comic is not mine, but the powerpoint and guided notes going along with it are. Price reflects this. I have made a good-faith effort to include everything non-original in the free preview download.
