Product Description
This lesson is an introduction to atoms and molecules, with great emphasis placed on the difference between elements and compounds. Students are introduced to the concept that elements can combine together to form compounds with unlike properties. (Such as when hydrogen and oxygen combine to form water.)

Lesson includes a powerpoint presentation, and a student activity that goes along with day one's lesson. In this case, students are asked to make models of specific molecules (your students will need access to a molecular model kit in order to do this) and then to decide whether each molecule is an element or a compound.

Zip file contains: 1.Powerpoint 2.PDF, to guarantee formatting and for easy printing, 3.Word document, to make it easier to edit.
Document is 100% my original, except for the second part of the student activity. I have included this activity with my "free preview" download.

Thank you for purchasing! Please give me a rating if you like my product.
