Are you teaching how air pressure affects our weather? This is a brief 12 slide PowerPoint that describes low and high pressure systems and the kind of weather that each is likely to produce. It also discusses two types of barometers. Included are instructions for making a model of both the aneroid and mercurial barometers. Students are asked to analyze a map and predict the current weather over the United States. The format is with a fill-in-the-blank. I like to ask students to guess what word they think completes the sentence before revealing with a click. You may also be interested in purchasing separately a student note taking guide that they can fill out while viewing the PowerPoint.
