This is a storyboard for students to use to keep track of the "movie in their mind" they have when they read Al Capone Does My Shirts by Gennifer Choldenko. I have included all the chapter titles inside a box. The students are to draw a scene from the chapter inside the box to keep track of the plot and assist with comprehension. On the line at the bottom of the box, I have students write an alternate title to get them to focus on the skill of main idea. I like to use storyboards when reading a novel because it helps with recall and it gets students engaged since they feel like they are designing a comic strip.
