After a teacher requested more beginning of year simple activities, my "Louisiana" brain went to work coming up with items I had done over the years for my own classrooms in Louisiana and American History. None of them where 'fantastic' items but they did get me through those opening days of paperwork, checking roll, the endless announcements, forms, counts, etc., etc.,etc.
Over the years I came up with lots of things that just made my early days go a bit smoother. Now I am getting to do these items for others around the country who need the same 'tricks'.
But 50 of these ideas seems like a lot of work and with each oneI tweak each for teachers in that state. Each one takes about 3-4 hours to creating and spell checking before I can post them.
These are not expensive items but can be a real lifesaver if need be. So, here is one of those time-killers as needed from MrE's History Emporium.
By the way the idea was requested by a first year teacher and new teachers we all know what this means on the first day/days of school. I've been there, done that…several times at different schools.
Louisiana teacher can and will help anyone who just asks. Part of that is built into my DNA after years of have student teachers in and out of my classrooms. There are many teachers who have helped me and it's only fair that I 'pay it forward' as long as God lets me.
