I’ve loved this song since the first time I came across it many years ago. I teach it to my students every year. I wish I could take the credit for this fun song but, I have never been able to find it’s original author. Each year, I send the song page home with my students which they love, so I added a book this year.
I’ve also included a placemat craft.
To use: make a handprint turkey with paint or by tracing your students hand. If using paint, paint the palm and thumb brown for the turkey’s body, then the remaining fingers red, orange, yellow or green. Stamp the hand in the middle of the placemat. When dry, draw a beak, a wattle or snood, eyes and legs. It’s an easy and fun gift to send home for Thanksgiving!
