Proficiency Based grading rubric
Health learning targets assessed:
Alcohol: B Understands short term effects of alcohol, C: Understands how media, family, and peers influence alcohol use, E: Understands long term effects of Alcohol.
21st century skills assessed:
Collaboration Working towards a team goal: Supports group goals and efforts; suspends one’s personal biases for the good of the team’s goals.
Collaboration Maintaining Focus: Relates all comments and suggestions to the group’s goal and plan.
Collaboration Awareness of Audience: Monitors and uses tone of voice, volume, and word choice appropriate to a variety of audiences(i.e., teachers, guests, when presenting information, etc.).
Instruct students in your alcohol unit about short term effects, long terms effects, and how family, friends, and media influence alcohol use. Use formative assessments as check points to be sure students are comprehending the information. When ready, assign Alcohol PSA. Students will be assessed in a proficiency based system using alcohol and 21st century skills targets.
