The Complete Alcohol Unit contains all 3 Lessons plus a bonus optional Lesson, and a variety of supplemental materials. All lessons meet the National Health Standard and have clearly defined Daily Learning Targets/Objectives. Each lesson can be used for grades 7-12 and Homeschoolers. The Unit is designed to take 3-4 days to complete (Classes are 55 minutes).
The unit includes 3 Lesson Plans plus a bonus optional lesson, Student Worksheets, Teacher Answers, and a variety of quizzes
Lesson One Includes these Learning Targets:
Students will learn the immediate, and the long term effects of alcohol on all body systems.
Students will learn this by tracing the path of alcohol through the entire body - from the lips, mouth, throat, esophagus, stomach, small intestine, blood stream, brain — all body systems.
Students will be assessed by completion of Alcohol Outline, Vocabulary Worksheet and Test Review Cube Activity.
Lesson Two includes the same learning targets from Lesson One and is a Review Lesson of all the work done in lesson One (which includes a number of resources and worksheets with teacher answers). This second lesson is best done as a follow-up to Lesson one, so it is provided as a free download to anyone purchasing Lesson 1 (because all the resources are the same).
Lesson Three includes these Learning Targets:
Students will demonstrate what they have learned during Alcohol Effects the Body unit.
Students will do this by turning in class work assignment for a grade and completing a test.
This Optional Lesson Four Includes these Learning Targets:
Students will learn about the many factors that alter the effects of alcohol.
Students will learn this by reading a Wall Street Journal article entitled Testing the Limits of Tipsy and complete their Testing the Limits of Tipsy Worksheet.
Students will be assessed by completion and accuracy of their Worksheet.
