This integrated reading and math activity offers a unique way for students to work with syllables and problem-solve by creating “balanced” mobiles, inspired by Alexander Calder’s invention. Both the SMARTBoard Notebook and a printable packet are included (so you don’t need a SMARTBoard to implement this activity), along with a detailed lesson plan. Common Core aligned!
