The topic of this set of task cards is Alexander the Great. Each task card has a question and a QR Code that links to a website or file in which the answer to the question can be found. Please note--I have designed these with my school system's strict internet filters in mind. Therefore none are linked to video files, wikis or blogs because all of these are blocked by my school system's internet filters. On the task cards some questions are short answer that the answer can be easily found for, others require higher order thinking and aren’t explicitly stated in the site linked.
These work best with iPads or iPad Minis since students need to be able to read through information on each site in order to complete their research. I use these to fulfill the informational text/research based Common Core research skills.
There are a total of 16 task cards which can be used as a station while other students explore the same topic in other ways, as an early finisher activity or as an enrichment activity.
