This alphabet book was made in this format so that teachers can staple the book and/or use it as picture cards as well. Students can take the book home and practice what they learned. They can share it with their parents or siblings. It is a good resource to encourage ESL student and /or struggling learners to practice the vocabulary words in an academic content.
Later on in the year, these cards can be combined with the other letter book/cards so that the students can categorize them in group
There is a Power Point that matches this book and includes Total Physical Response, a research based ESL approach widely used in the ESL field. The Power point combines Common Core Standards and WIDA LEP standards. It also includes real pictures and clip arts so that the teacher may compare and explain the difference between these and how important this concept is to later teach fiction and non-fiction pictures.
The power point and book can also be used for special education and mainstream students who have language delays. If you have a mixed and inclusion classroom, this power point and booklet is for you.
