I use relays to review a lot of different subjects in my Algebra 1 classes. This one gives students different expressions and specific values to substitute in for the variables. The work required includes: order of operations, using the distributive property, operations with real numbers and using exponents. It's great to use at the end of Chapter 1 of the Prentice Hall CA Algebra 1 textbook.
Students have fun with Scavenger Hunts. They try hard to find the correct answer so their team can finish first!
It includes instructions of how to use the Scavenger Hunt, a worksheet that students can use to record their answers, and a homework worksheet that reviews simplifying rational expressions, solving rational equations, and review standards from previous chapters.
