Product Description
This lesson was created for my Algebra 1 classes. This PowerPoint explains how to factor quadratic expressions by grouping. It will coordinate with Section 8.8 of the Prentice Hall CA Algebra 1 textbook, but when I teach factoring, I teach Greatest Common Factors first (a powerpoint lesson for GCF is available on TpT), then follow with factoring by grouping.

This is the second lesson in my unit on Factoring.

Powerpoint Lessons
10.1 Greatest Common Factors
10.2 Factoring by Grouping
10.3 Factoring Trinomials (ac method)
10.4 Multi-Step Factoring

Previous CA Algebra 1 Standard 11.0
Students apply basic factoring techniques to second- and simple third-degree polynomials. These techniques include finding a common factor for all terms in a polynomial, recognizing the difference or two squares, and recognizing perfect squares of binomials.

Note: Math Type 3.0 and/or Math Type 5.0 was used to create the slides.
