This PowerPoint was designed to review Chapter 4 in the Prentice Hall CA Algebra 1 textbook. It has 20 questions the cover relations & functions, function rules, writing function rules, the vertical line test, graphing points, and inverse variation.
I like my students to work the problems first (not just guess), so the question comes up first. An elephant sounds that "time is up", then with a click of the mouse, the answers will appear. Another click will have the butterfly fly to the correct answer.
This review has sound effects and a music video that are also included. (My students really like these type of reviews!)

Common Core Standards
F-IF 1. Understand that a function from one set (called the domain) to another set (called the range) assigns to each element of the domain exactly one element of the range. If f is a function and x is an element of its domain, then f(x) denotes the output of f corresponding to the input x. The graph of f is the graph of the equation y = f(x).
Build a function that models a relationship between two quantities.
1. Write a function that describes a relationship between two quantities.
Previous California Standards for Algebra 1
16.0 Students understand the concepts of a relation and a function, determine whether a given relation defines a function, and give pertinent information about given relations and functions.
17.0 Students determine the domain of independent variables and the range of dependent variables defined by a graph, a set of ordered pairs, or a symbolic expression.
18.0 Students determine whether a relation defined by a graph, a set of ordered pairs, or a symbolic expression is a function and justify the conclusion.
