Product Description
This is a lesson that I made for my Algebra 1 classes to show them how to solve inequalities that have multiple steps in one variable. It shows the graphs on some of the problems also. It was designed to correspond with Section 3.4 of the Prentice Hall California Algebra 1 Textbook, but could be used in any Algebra 1 class.

The lesson also contains a video which makes it perfect for home teachers or for days that you can't be in the classroom. (I use that time to take roll!) Each slide can also be edited so that the presentation meets the needs of your specific classes.

This is the third lesson in my unit on Inequalities. Be sure to check them all out.

Common Core Standard
Solve equations and inequalities in one variable.
A-REI 3. Solve linear equations and inequalities in one variable, including equations with coefficients represented by letters.
A-REI 3.1 Solve one-variable equations and inequalities involving absolute value, graphing the solutions and interpreting them in context. (CA standard)

Previous California Standards for Algebra 1:
4.0: Students simplify expressions before solving linear equations and inequalities in one variable.
5.0: Students solve multi-step problems, including word problems, involving linear equations and linear inequalities in one variable and provide justification for each step.

Note: Math Type 5.0 was used to create many of the problems.
