Product Description
I created this PowerPoint to show students how to solve work problems. It includes a copy of the problems in the presentation that I give to the students to make taking notes a little easier.

There is a video in the presentation will makes it perfect to use when you have a substitute, or for home schooling, or so you can take roll while the lesson continues.

This is the last lesson in my unit on Rational Expressions.

Common Core Standards
A-REI 2. Solve simple rational and radical equations in one variable, and give examples showing how extraneous solutions may arise.
A-APR 7. Understand that rational expressions form a system analogous to the rational numbers, closed under addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division by a nonzero rational expression; add, subtract, multiply, and divide rational expressions.

Previous California Standards for Algebra 1:
12.0 Students simplify fractions with polynomials in the numerator and denominator by factoring both and reducing them to the lowest terms.
13.0 Students add, subtract, multiply, and divide rational expressions and functions. Students solve both computationally and conceptually challenging problems by using these techniques.
