In this product, challenge your students to solve systems of equations graphically in the context of making predictions about the results of a race. This product contains two multi-step application problems, that are the components of the Common Core Algebra 1 standard A.REI.6 for systems of equations (Unit 2).
The Common Core Standards have redefined what is Algebra I, while assessment practices are increasingly linked to specific student learning objectives and good instruction is continually emphasizing applying Algebra I to the real world.
Why spend hours coming up with your own problems to apply, assess, and understand what your students know about the standards they are expected to learn? These problems are perfect for giving your students a chance to demonstrate what they have learned with multi-part applications that link the content to the real world and include a key and a rubric to assess where they are at and see if they have met the objective!
These problems are perfect for:
- Pre- and Post-Assessment, especially for common assessment
- Demonstrating student learning objectives
- Showing your students how their content knowledge connects to the real world
- Understanding what your students know and can do
- Giving extra practice and application to your students
RUBRICS are also included on a 4, 3, 2, 1 standards-based grading scale for standard A.REI.6, as well as descriptions of other standards and math practices that each problem covers.
A KEY is also included!
Fully editable to allow you to customize for your own classroom!
