TEST PREP TIME - End of Year
It's the end of the course (almost) and you really want to review and revisit all the topics. But you need something quick, different and unique. This set of 10 worksheets that 'countdown' the days may fill that need. There are ten questions for each day for ten days.... that's 100 questions!
The intent of this resource is to prepare your students for an end of course assessment - it's a “pre-assessment” assessment.
The questions are taken from the Algebra One Units below:
Relationships between Quantities and Reasoning with Equations
Linear and Exponential Relationships
Expressions and Equations
Quadratic Functions and Modeling
There is no particular order to the questions, similar to the way a test is organized. Students will see content from the beginning, middle or end of the course dispersed throughout the ten worksheets.
SUGGESTION for USE:
Starting two weeks (ten days) before the assessment, assign one page each day, starting with page #10. Students work all the problems and the teacher analyzes the results. A chart (Item Analysis by Unit) is included to help with this task. Students can be instructed to do this task by marking the ones they miss (or taking a positive approach, mark the ones that are correct). By glancing down a column, it becomes evident which unit(s) should be re-visited.
This method has proven successful in identifying areas of weakness and strength and provides valuable information for revisiting or reteaching.
