What are Spiral Assessments?
Spiral Assessments are designed to continuously assess student learning on all standards they have learned. Each week, new standards are added to the weekly quizzes as students learn new skills. This way of assessing student knowledge gives the teacher a true perspective of how each student is doing on all the material that has been covered (not just one skill). Plus, by revisiting standards week after week, students get more than one opportunity to show what they know and what they still need to work on.

1st QUARTER
1. Differentiating between the real and complex number system, Reducing radicals, Real and imaginary parts of a complex number, Powers of i, Identifying conjugates N.CN.1
2. Operations with complex numbers, Rationalizing using a conjugate N.CN.2
3. Solve Quadratic equations with complex solutions by quadratic formula, square roots and completing the square; Discriminant N.CN.7
4. Using factoring identities with imaginary numbers
Fundamental Theorem of Algebra: The number of roots matches the degree, one conjugate root is 7i, so the other root must be -7i.
What is the possible number of real roots and imaginary roots? N.CN.8, N.CN.9
5. Understanding an expression in a real world situation
X-intercepts, Y-intercepts, degree, leading coefficient, constant…etc A.SSE.1ab
6. Sum of a finite and infinite geometric series. Use the formula to solve problems A.SSE.4

2nd QUARTER

4th QUARTER
1. Given a Graph, identify key features of a graph, Domain and Range; Average rate of change; Graph various functions by hand in simple cases and with technology for harder cases (Non trig) F.IF.4, F.IF.5, F.IF.6, F.IF.7a
