A great review or warm-up activity to help students organize their understanding of absolute value inequalities and how they are represented on the number line, and how the final answers are written. Students work to form 6 sets of 4 cards. All values are based on 2 or -2 forcing students to concentrate on the details of the points, arrows, and answers. Uses the words "at most" and "at least". Includes one "no solution" card. Can be assigned individually or to partners, or used as part of a review rotation to centers. Also good to give to students who finish work early.
Cut up cards and put in an envelope, then give to students as a warm-up or review before a quiz or new lesson extending their work with absolute values or to refresh their memories before a review or final exam. Or have students sort and glue them into their interactive notebooks as a quick reference page.
