This is an EXCEL spreadsheet I created during a boring inservice day.
I used this spreadsheet to create third, fourth, and fifth degree functions for my students to factor using their graphing calculators. I also discussed end behavior of functions, x and y intercepts, and other characteristics of functions.
I used these functions to discuss nature of roots and synthetic division.

Use this spreadsheet to FOIL binomials together. You can FOIL 2, 3, 4, or 5 binomials together.
You can FOIL binomials with imaginary numbers. Remember with imaginary numbers to use conjugates.
You can use this spreadsheet to create equations that you know will work out.
But remember the solutions might differ in their signs.
This spreadsheet is only FOIL-ing binomials.
All you do is enter what a, b, c … that you want. The spreadsheet will FOIL x+a and x+b and x+c …
Example: if you enter a = 5 and b = 7 this will give the results 1 12 35
This translates into x^2 + 12x + 35
Another example: if you enter a = -2, b = 2, c = 5, d = 4+i, and e = 4-i this will give the results 1 13 53 33 -228 -340
This translates into x^5 + 13x^4 + 53x^3 + 33x^2 - 228x - 340
