Product Description
For this activity, organize the students into groups of four. Each student is given a problem number (1, 2, 3, 4) and is responsible to solve that problem on each relay race form. Copy each of the problem cards along with the answer sheets. I have found that one sheet per group has worked well but it depends on the class. Some may do better with one sheet per person but then they can put all their final answers on one form before bringing it up to be checked.
Here's how the relay works:
• Hang large papers up on the wall around the room (one per each group – 11”x14”
paper works well). Be sure to include markers/crayons/colored pencils by each
paper so the students have materials to use when they draw their bunny.

• Every group starts on the first round – there are a total of eight rounds. Person #1 from each group picks up Round #1 and brings it back to their group
• Each person in the group works on their assigned problem.
• The person who is responsible to bring the form up must collect all the final answers and then bring a completed form up to the teacher to be checked. If all questions are correct, then that person draws their given attribute.
• That person can then bring the Round #2 questions back to their group. This time Person #2 will bring up the answers to be checked. This continues for all eight rounds.
• If a team is missing a person, they can designate two different people to take that
person’s place when it comes to bringing up the answers and drawing the bunny’s attributes.
There are two winners – the group who finishes in the shortest time and the group that has the best drawing. That way a slower group doesn’t get discouraged because they still have a chance at winning.

I made this as an end of year algebra honors review and these are the topics covered:
-linear equations
-translations of an absolute value function
-identifying the slope and y-intercept of a linear equation
-simplifying expressions with exponent rules
-identify the vertex and if it opens upward or downward given a quadratic function
-simplifying radical expressions
-determining the domain for each square root function
-simplifying rational expressions

The answer key is provided with 8 different rounds!! This is a word document so feel free to change the problems or what you want them to draw.

I hope your kids love it as much as mine do!!
