In these nine lessons students will plot points in a coordinate plane, represent quantitative relationships graphically, and interpret the meaning of a specific part of the graph. Students will learn to evaluate, graph, and interpret linear functions. Students will be able to find the slope of a line, compare and interpret slope as a rate, and use the slope-intercept form to identify the slope of a line and the y-intercept. Students will sketch a graph using the slope-intercept form. Students will learn to sketch a graph representing quantitative relationships and interpret specific parts of the graph. By completing this unit, students will be able to write, graph and solve a system of linear equations and inequalities. STUDENT WORKSHEETS, an EDUCATOR GUIDE, and a UNIT WRAP UP for assessing student performance after completing this unit are included.
